The parcel boundaries were created within the ArcGIS 8.x environment and stored as an ESRI ArcGIS polygon feature class. Topology was created, validated and checked within the ArcMap environment. A series of in house scrubbing was run to ensure consistency between GIS parcels and the real estate parcel database. Any discrepancies were flagged and validated. All tax parcel information contained in the hard copy tax maps received by Timmons Group, from Campbell County are included in the parcel feature class. A series of scrubs were run to validate GIS parcels against existing tax parcel real estate records. Accuracy is based on the Virginia Base Mapping Program 1:200 and 1:400 scale imagery used for the conversion effort. VBMP digital orthoimagery adheres to Class 1 mapping standards in conformance with Virginia Map Accuracy Standards (1992) and ASPRS (1990), Class 1. Check plots were created for each tax map tile and compared against the original hard copy tax maps and VBMP imagery.
