Description: The shape and orientation of the ground floor of all structures in a local government. This information is typically compiled from orthoimagery or other aerial photography sources. This representation of the building footprints support the local government basemaps. It also serves as a source for public works, public safety, planning and other agencies that are responsible for the active management of site addresses, facilities, and land use information.
Description: The Virginia Geographic Information Network (VGIN) has coordinated the development of a consistent, seamless, statewide digital road centerline file with address, road name, and route number attribution, as part of the Virginia Base Mapping Program (VBMP). The Road Centerline Program (RCL) leverages the Commonwealth's investment in the VBMP digital orthophotography and is focused on creating a single statewide, consistent digital road file. The RCL data layer is a dynamic dataset supported and maintained by Virginia's Local Governments and VGIN. VBMP RCL is extracted and provided back to local governments and state agencies in many geographic data sets every quarter. Please note the following use restrictions: RCL Geometry is public domain; Minimal Attribution is public domain (RCL Public); Geocoding fields are restricted in use (RCL Master) and to acquire these, please contact VGIN.

Description: Points that represent significant facility locations in a community. Examples include schools, government facilities, stadiums, casinos, and fire stations. In some cases, there may be multiple FacilitySitePoints for a single FacilitySite polygon. Additional information about each Facility can be organized in to seperate tables and related to these locations using the FacilityID key. The feature classification and type schema for the facility sites grew out of work with the Department of Homeland Security's HSIP Program and has evolved to support a diverse set of facilities inventoried for a variety of uses by a local government.

Description: A Green Infrastructure map for Campbell County in central Virginia was developed to support land cover and land use modeling. Digital aerial imagery at 3 foot resolution was classified to a Green Infrastructure Level 1 classification scheme with the following classes: 1) Non Woody Vegetation, 2) Woody Vegetation, 3) Impervious, 4) Water and 5) Bare Soil. The image was classified using Classification and Regression Tree techniques (CART analysis) and raster modeling. The classification accuracy assessment gave an overall accuracy of 95.6% for the Level 1 classification. This feature class was developed in the Virginia State Plane HARN coordinate system, but redefined as NAD83 to align with the 2011 Virginia Geographic Information Network (VGIN) imagery.
